On June 9th, the coffee trees finally set off for our farm in the town of Suo-Oshima, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Master's all-out challenge, drawing on years of experience, is finally in full swing!
-
After a two-day journey, the coffee trees arrived on Suo-Oshima.
We cautiously opened the packaging, worried they might be dehydrated or broken, but to our relief, they were thriving inside.
-
Young shoots had emerged, and flower buds quickly bloomed into beautiful white flowers.
It seems the long truck ride was surprisingly comfortable for them.
-
Flowers are blooming, and fruits are starting to form. May they bear abundant fruit. *(^^ )*

7/3: We timed it to take advantage of a break in the heavy rain warning, bringing them outside to get some rain.Clear skies remain elusive. We nurture these precious bean trees, remembering the master's vision within the greenhouse.
-
7/10: The farm's first misting. It creates a magical atmosphere inside the greenhouse, keeping the coffee seedlings lush and vibrant.
-
7/16, The avocados are growing too. After getting drenched with well water from the mist, both the coffee and avocados are well-hydrated.The avocados look adorable with droplets like rows of jewels.
-
7/25, The leaves are growing freely and large, making the pallets they're placed on feel cramped. The Eastern Yamaguchi Prefecture Forestry Cooperative delivered new pallets for us.
-
7/31: Taking advantage of the summer heat, we're already preparing for winter.Coffee trees are sensitive to cold.We sun-dry the jute bags for the bean trees on Oshima's spacious grounds for winter use.
-
The Oshima Bridge, a tourist attraction connecting Honshu and Suo-Oshima.It's the lifeline bringing water from Honshu.

Typhoon No. 10 was forecast to be massive, raising fears our greenhouse might not withstand it.We urgently evacuated only the items small enough to fit in a car!In the end, while we wondered when the typhoon would hit, it passed us by.

October.
The coffee berries, lush and green all summer, are finally turning red.
-
We harvested a basketful.

The heating system installed in December activates when temperatures drop below 10°C overnight. The roughly 30°C temperature difference seems to be having a positive effect—avocado flower buds are swelling, and the branch structure, leaf color and sheen are at their best!
-
The master has arrived on Oshima. Even he, who has cultivated coffee trees for many years, is amazed by the results achieved in just six months. By the end of March, the flowers should be in full bloom. Signs of spring are already visible on the farm.

On January 12, 2025, at the request of Suo-Oshima Town, prospective residents were given a tour of coffee cultivation. The chairman brewed coffee for us, and we sampled Pan-Coppe. It was a very cold day, but inside the greenhouse it was over 30°C. We shared a warm moment together.

It has been ten months since the coffee seedlings arrived on Suo-Oshima.
They will start blooming one after another from now on. They're doing so well. Amazing vitality.
